Dear Parents, Guardians, and Community Members,

Spring is finally here. We all wondered if it would ever come. This is to remind everyone that the last day of school will be June 29th. Please enjoy with us all of the activities at schools between now and then.

This is a time for me to reflect on my first year in Beverly. As all of you know, this is a very welcoming community. There is tremendous support for education in Beverly. The work of the Beverly Education Foundation, PTOs including Citywide PTO, Beverly Bootstraps and other organizations too numerous to list here.

It is a pleasure visiting buildings to see the quality of instruction delivered every day to our students. Our focus as a District is to maximize academic achievement and personal growth to enable all students to compete in the global economy is critical to our success.

I want to acknowledge the work done by so many educators from elementary, middle and high school as they continue to improve our educational program. The building of the educational program for the new middle school is having an impact across the district. Their work has informed the design of the middle school incorporating project base learning, a STEM/STEAM emphasis, an outdoor learning area to make connections with the environment, and a vibrant school to meet the needs of this unique age group.

I want to acknowledge the work and commitment of the Beverly Leadership Team and School Committee for their vision and hard work as we continue our path to excellence.

Finally, we will be transitioning to a new website over the summer so stay tuned for that significant change.

Sincerely,

Steven A. Hiersche, Ed.D.

Superintendent of Schools
