Welcome! Welcome to the Ayers Ryal Side Elementary School Web Site. On behalf of the Ayers Ryal Side School Community, I would like to invite you to take this opportunity to learn about our school, staff, and students. The Ayers Ryal Side School is situated on top of Greene’s Hill in the Ryal Side area of Beverly, close to the border of Beverly and Danvers. The school first opened in September of 1961 and then was updated and renovated during the 1998 – 1999 school year. Today, we are a state of the art facility with a computer lab, media center, art room, science lab, music room, full-size gymnasium, cafeteria, and 22 classrooms.

The Ayers Ryal Side community embraces a shared responsibility among students, faculty, parents, and administration to provide each member of its diverse student body with the opportunity to achieve academic excellence. Our teachers utilize varied instructional methods in order to help all students be successful. We are proud to be home to the City of Beverly’s English as a Second Language (ESL) program for elementary students. These students, who come from countries throughout the world, are fully immersed in regular education classrooms. Ayers is also home to two of our district preschool classrooms, providing an integrated preschool experience to children ages three to five

We have active parent groups, which participate in many ways throughout the school. Our Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) conducts fundraising to support important student events such as field trips, book fairs and enrichment assemblies. In addition, they have also made major contributions to our school, including the purchase and installation of a playground structure. Likewise, our School Council actively engages in advancing student learning. This past year, their major focus was to extend the school day by offering quality, academically-based after-school programs, including mathematics, science, and art. Our Homework Helpers Club provides an opportunity for significant numbers of our children to have a consistent place and time in which to do their homework in an uninterrupted environment. A nutritious breakfast program and a quality after-school daycare program also add to our school day.

We are dedicated to the development of the full intellectual, social, emotional, and physical potential of every student. We provide a safe, respectful environment for all individuals. Our daily morning message and "Words of Wisdom" encourage and reinforce the Golden Rule. It is our hope that upon leaving Ayers Ryal Side School, each person will find himself or herself better for having been here.
