Level 2Math is All Around You!!
You will be making a real estate advertisement for a residential home for sale
in Beverly. The project is due
October 8th. You will need two pieces of 8 ¸ä x 11ä white paper, pencil, markers, pens, and a ruler. Plan your advertisement to include the following items: ¤ A title of the advertisement. ¤ A drawing of the house and its sale price. ¤ A detailed description of at least five features of the house. ¤ A listing of comparable houses for sale. Please refer to copies of the Boston Globe Real Estate Section. o On a separate sheet of paper: q Please include a computer printout of 10 other houses for sale in Beverly, sorted by price. q Electronically calculate the mean, median and mode for these comparable houses. q Electronically calculate the mean, median and mode with the previously determined 10 comparable houses, as well as an additional house for sale that is a higher outlier. q Electronically calculate the mean, median and mode with the previously determined 10 comparable houses, as well as an additional house for sale that is a lower outlier. o Transfer, by hand, the calculation of mean, median and mode without outliers onto your advertisement. ¤ A calculation of the range of values. ¤ An electronic printout of a bar graph illustrating five other homes for sale in Beverly, pasted on the advertisement. ¤ Create, by hand, at least three of the following graphs illustrating 10 other homes for sale in Beverly: circle graph, line graph, scatter plot, stem and leaf diagram, line plot, tally chart and/or frequency chart. Criteria for Grading ¤ Is the grammar, punctuation, and spelling correct - 20 points.
¤ Is the mean, median and mode calculated correctly and relevant to the houseâs sale price - 30 points. ¤ Pride in work, quality of workmanship, neatness, and detail in artwork ö 20 points.
