McKinney - Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act

The Beverly Public Schools provides homeless students and unaccompanied youth all of the educational services for which they are eligible, including education programs for students with disabilities, free school meals, English language services, vocational and technical education, gifted and talented services, special education, preschool and Title I services. Homeless students are entitled to transportation to their school of origin or the school where they are to be enrolled, if required. All user fees are waived for students without a permanent place to live. For more information you may confidentially contact the Districts’ Homeless Liaison, Emily Rockwell at 921-6100, ext. 747.

The Beverly Public Schools is the recipient of the School and Community Support Project Grant, a joint venture funded by the Departments of Education and Social Services to provide supportive and preventative services to elementary and middle school children living in foster, adoptive, kinship and DSS involved settings. Support services include: training for educators, parents and DSS personnel; behavioral consultation including direct behavioral interventions to identified children and families; and social skills groups. Please either contact the Principal at your child’s school or call Emily Rockwell at 921-6100, ext. 747 if you are interested in hearing more about the grant or if throughout the year we may be of any help to you or your child.
