Welcome to the Transportation Department website!

 

Our department is complete with 36 busses, 7 school vans, 30 CDL bus drivers, 8 van drivers and 18 bus monitors. The Director, Bookkeeper and Dispatcher maintain the department Monday-Friday from 8:00 to 4:00PM and would be glad to assist you in any way regarding school bus transportation.

We provide transportation to the students of Beverly who attend our public schools as well as those who attend parochial schools in Beverly. Students are bussed daily to and from their respective schools. Transportation is provided for students who participate in school field trips, athletic/music programs, or any other school based activity that requires bussing. Our goal is to provide transportation to all students in a safe and timely manner.

 

Special Education Bus Transportation

All special education students must have transportation in their IEP to be eligible for the bus.  An application is required to register a student to ride a special education bus to and from their school daily at no cost. 

 

General Education Bus Transportation

An application is required to register a student to ride a general education bus to and from their school daily. A form should be completed online for each child along with any required bus fee to the Transportation Department. The Beverly Public Schools require all students in grades 7-12 to provide their own transportation or to pay a transportation fee. The fee is $346.50 per student and capped at $693 per family. One way ridership is allowed at $173.25 per student.

 

MANDATED STUDENTS

State law requires free transportation for K-6 students who live beyond a two-mile limit (walking distance). 

All other students will be charged the fees listed above

*Students who live under 1.5 miles do not qualify for a bus*

BUS PASSES/ROUTE INFORMATION

 

GRADES 5th-12th: Passes will be sent to the schools

ALL GRADES: Emails will be sent with route information prior to the start of school

 

STUDENTS MUST HAVE THEIR BUS PASSES ON THEIR PERSON TO RIDE THEIR ASSIGNED BUS AND THE LATE BUS EACH DAY

 

There is a 2 week grace period for students at the start of the school year to obtain their passes from their schools

 

If you do not receive a bus pass or an email with your route/bus # by September 2, 2026 and you registered between July 1st and August 1st, please reach out to the transportation department.

 

A $5 fee is assessed to replace a bus pass. 

 

  PLEASE NOTE: 

 

-Transportation Fees: Fees are due within 14 days of registration. Please see amounts above.
 
-Eligibility: Students who live under 1.5 miles (walking distance) will not be eligible for transportation.
 
-Scholarships: In case of financial hardship, you may apply for a scholarship. Scholarship applications can be accessed while filling out the bus application online. *Please note that the transportation office does not process scholarship applications and BOTH bus and scholarship applications need to be filled out. These are two separate applications. For more scholarship information, please email [email protected].
 
-August 1st Deadline: If both application & payment/approved scholarship are not received, students will not be allowed to start at the beginning of the school year and may not be guaranteed a seat if their bus is at full capacity. A $25 late fee will be applied.  
 
- Waitlist: For the 2025-2026 school year, many routes were at full capacity.  All late registrations are wait listed and you will be contacted if a spot becomes available.
