2/26 Community Update

Dear BPS Community,

I am pleased to announce that the list of Superintendent Screening Committee members has been finalized and is listed here.

The School Committee is grateful to those who recognize and acknowledge that we are committed to an open process with as much community involvement as possible. We are optimistic that we will have the strongest possible candidates apply for the role and this group will help down-select our next leader from a robust pool of applicants. 

We are hopeful that the right candidate will allow us to build on the formidable work done by Superintendent Charochak, along with our educators and leadership, to provide our students the skills they need in today’s global environment. The composition of the Screening Committee reflects our commitment as we have equitable representation from all stakeholder groups from our littlest learners to our graduating class to former students of the Beverly Public Schools.

I want to thank everyone who put their hat in the ring for this volunteer effort over the next month and also want to express gratitude to everyone who completed the stakeholder survey, which will inform the candidate profile to be used to assess qualified applicants. Our Search Facilitator will help us coordinate additional stakeholder opportunities in the coming weeks. What is clear so far is that Beverly is a community that knows its students come first and the value of educational excellence and opportunity for all students. 

The individuals listed below have volunteered several hours of their time to ensure that the voice of the community is represented in the selection of our next Superintendent. They will be expected to maintain confidentiality so as to give every candidate a fair chance and to ensure we are not undermining candidates’ privacy. Please understand that all information of a public interest will come directly from me and that I will keep you informed as frequently as possible.
